Glasscock School FotoFest Exhibit‏

Thank you to everyone who submitted work for consideration in the Glasscock School’s third annual exhibit of student artwork, held in conjunction with the FotoFest 2016 Biennial.

We are pleased to announce the artists selected: John Chaney, Kelly Dempster, Jim Pomerantz, William Snypes,  Mickael Szymanski, and Bill Walterman.  We are also delighted to announce that William Snypes is the recipient of the inaugural Sydney Thomson Brown Award. Please join us in congratulating these artists, and everyone who submitted work, for the outstanding caliber of their photographs.

While all of the submissions were excellent, our distinguished jurors, Bevin Bering Dubrowski and Libbie J. Masterson, selected a group of work that cohered particularly well together. The exhibit’s theme, which arose organically from these works is “Intimate Cartography: Mapping Vanishing Terrains.” This exhibit will celebrate the diverse ways photography can provide intimate traces of the ephemeral quality of places, nature, people and our visual experiences.

We hope you will join us for a public reception on March 24th at 5-6:30 p.m. in the Dean’s Commons of the Anderson-Clarke Center to learn more about this exhibit and to celebrate all of our extraordinary students and instructors.
